JACOB DERWIG

 

Jacob Derwig is acknowledged as one of the Netherland’s most outstanding actors with 6 Golden Calf wins/nominations to his name. As a stage actor he has toured the world with renowned director Ivo van Hove; whilst on-screen his most notable performances include; FAMILY WAY, PUBLIC WORKS, THE DINNER, the Dutch crime series PENOZA, and as the recurring role of ‘Marius Milner’ in the acclaimed crime drama KLEM. He played the role of ‘Gijs van Haal’ in THE RESISTANCE BANKER, a film by Joram Lürsen, which was selected as The Netherland’s 2019 Oscar entry for Best Foreign-Language Film. Jacob’s performance in it earned him a Golden Calf award for Best Actor. Jacob’s recent work includes: playing the role of ‘Eric Savenije’ in the series RED LIGHT, which won numerous awards including at CannesSeries, where it premiered; as ‘Lourens van Maurik’ in the political drama series BUZA; and the crime mini-series THE SPECTACULAR.
