YULIA SNIGIR

 

Yulia is an exceptionally versatile and well-known Russian actress, who is equally at home both on stage, and screen. A former chess champion, she trained at the Vakhtangov Theatre Academy in Moscow. Her initial big break came with the hugely successful Russian sci-fi film THE INHABITED ISLAND (DARK PLANET), and its sequel, both of which were directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk, and which brought her to greater public attention in Russia, and abroad. This led to her playing the key role of ‘Irina’ opposite Bruce Willis in A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD by John Moore, and in the leading role of ‘Alisa’ in FREEZER, alongside Dylan McDermott. In the acclaimed romantic comedy ABOUT LOVE, by renowned Armenian-Russian director Anna Melikyan, Yulia played the role of ‘Liza’. Her television work includes: VELIKAYA, BLOODY MISTRESS, and RASPUTIN. She played the role of ‘Katya Bulavina’ in the award-winning television adaptation of Tolstoy’s ROAD TO CALVARY, which was directed by Konstantin Khudyakov. Recent work includes: the thriller series A GOOD MAN by Konstantin Bogomolov; and Yulia played a key role in Paolo Sorrentino’s THE NEW POPE for Sky Atlantic & HBO, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
