DARYA EKAMASOVA

 

After training at GITIS, Darya Ekamasova’s film breakthrough came when she played ‘Chicholina’, a homeless teenager in SPARTAK AND KALSHNIKOV - which marked her out as a unique talent. She starred in several films, such as: FREE FLOATING;, SPLITl and GAMES OF MOTHS, but it was her performance in THERE ONCE LIVED A SIMPLE WOMAN, which gained her notoriety and numerous awards. She won a Chopard Best Actress Award in 2016 and notably played the lead role in ALINA by Ben Barenholtz. Darya played the recurring character of 'Sofia Kovalenko' in several seasons of FX's Golden Globe-winning show THE AMERICANS. Darya’s notable other work includes: the role of ‘Sasha’ in the feature film GIVE ME LIBERTY, directed by Kirill Mikhanovsky; as ‘Lyubov Sorokina’ in the television drama OCCUPIED; ‘Nadezhda Krupskaya’ in THE LENIN FACTOR; in Romas Zabarauskas’ THE LAWYER; the drama JUST BEFORE which was written & directed by Alisa Erokhina; and as ‘Lakka’ in the acclaimed series TO THE LAKE.
