Subtitle Talent at Cannes Film Festival

With films competing both in main competition, and as part of the Directors’s Fortnight (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs) selection, Subtitle Talent actors featured heavily at this year’s Cannes film festival.

Vlad Ivanov: played the lead role of ‘Cristi’ in Corneliu Porumboiu’s crime thriller “The Whistlers” which was in main competition at the festival, and had its world premiere in the Grand Lumière theatre of the Palais des Festivals.

Nuno Lopes: Rebecca Zlotowski’s “An Easy Girl” (Une fille facile) won the Directors’ Fortnight prize for best French-language film. Nuno played the leading role of ‘Andrés’ in this coming-of-age drama, as told through the eyes of a young woman.

Darya Ekamasova: “Give Me Liberty” which was directed by Kirill Mikhanovsky, and which stars Darya as ‘Sasha’, also received a great reception at the Directors’s Fortnight, following on from its recent success at Sundance Film Festival.
